LIZ RAY

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Liz Ray began her artistic journey in Germany at an early age where she learned the fundamentals of art and principles of design.  Her love of art continued as she furthered her education at the University of Tennessee, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art at Murray State University.

She transitioned into marching arts design in 2018 with a goal to create custom imagery that is imaginative and sophisticated.  With a daughter that participated in colorguard in high school and DCI, the understanding and appreciation for this sport grew. For her, she viewed the activity as a full on theatrical production, with many moving puzzle pieces.  It's a large scale, dynamic, moving composition and the field is the canvas.  She approaches her design like any canvas, being mindful of space, color, shape, form, value, texture, balance, unity, variety, emphasis, movement, pattern, and proportion, to create the most successful composition.  With the science of Photoshop and a strong base in drawing, she can execute design from concept, to pattern, to final product. Her motto is modern art for modern marching!
